Better than I expected

A new environment, new people, everything happened so quickly that I didn’t even get the time to think or plan for it. I am talking about my new school  “The united World College”.  I had heard that there are students from over 80 countries in this college and all from different socio-economic, cultural backgrounds. I was told that this is a place where different people from different culture learn to bond and respect each other. I knew that the curriculum I was going to study was going to be totally diverse, and the students there have to very adaptive and active towards world issues . All these had created fear in my mind. I was in dilemma about how I am going to manage all of these . Also it was my first time leaving in a boarding. I was scared from inside and was having a feeling that it is going to be very difficult.

But surprisingly, it was not difficult at all. It was the best place I had ever been to. The people there were the most friendly people on earth. The diversity is so great that everyone is  very enthusiastic to learn from each other. It is like another world. A world where no diversion exists, where ever body cooperates  with each other and live harmoniously.  It is like an illusion. It is a perfect world. I was greeted by a diverse group of students on my arrival at the airport and then a local student showed me around the country and eventually we turned out to be best friends. I can now proudly say that I have friends from mostly every part of the world. So, don’t make assumptions as they can not only de- moralize you but also lower your expectations affecting your potentials to excel.  Grab every opportunity and be ready to face any obstacle. We should always remember that there is no fun in life if there is no risk. Risk makes the fruit of happiness costlier. Life is like a ice-cream, enjoy it before it melts.

The following sentence sort of put it all in perspective "I had heard that there are students from over 80 countries in this college and all from different socio-economic, cultural backgrounds." - with so many new students from so many different countries and backgrounds all of you had to have the same worries about fitting in and getting along. You're very lucky to have had such a unique experience!
